Being in the Supply
Management profession for over 18 years, I’ve never seen such
importance placed onto our shoulders as I have over the last year.
Our capabilities and our responsibilities have been growing in
significance within our organizations as never before. Since the
economy has impacted all of us in so many ways, NAPM-AZ would like
to give back! While most organizations and companies are saying we
will give you less, NAPM-AZ, wants to give you more!
NAPM-AZ would like
to up the ante in value by tapping into our own professionals within
our affiliate and help our supply management colleagues. Helping
out is one way of giving back to our profession and giving back to
each of you individually.
We believe that our
members have invaluable strengths and experience that can help our
less experienced members along with our seasoned professionals. We
would like to help give back and we need you to help us realize this
opportunity to help each of us grow, improve and stay competitive.
We would to kick off two new programs, member workshops and a
mentoring program to help expand our professional experiences.
Please contact Nancy Roker at
napmarizona@cox.net to volunteer for these programs.
Also, March is
Supply Management Month! NAPM-AZ would like to take this time to
encourage you to promote Supply Management Month within your
organizations. Show your commitment to lead supply management, bring
awareness to activities that showcase the importance of our
profession.
We currently have
two open spots for the NAPM-AZ Board of Directors. We welcome your
active participation with our affiliate and would encourage you to
become a Board member.
Upcoming events
will be our April 22, 2010 meeting entitled, “Procurement Fraud”
with Ken Conway. April 25th-28th, 2010 is the
95th Annual ISM International Supply Management
Conference which will be held in San Diego, CA. We are looking at
two other events as well, a plant Tour at Ping and a wine tasting
event at Kokopelli Winery in Chandler, AZ. We will send out more
information on these two events once we have them confirmed.
As always we thank
you for your participation with NAPM-AZ and we want you to know that
we are dedicated to our Mission which is to provide members with
opportunities for professional and personal development through
supply chain management education, advocacy and public awareness
programs. I hope you participate in as many programs offered by
NAPM-AZ as possible. We welcome your feedback, input and assistance
and we truly value you.
Warm regards
Cynthia
