Ingredient Buyer - Isagenix (posted 9/2/2010)

Isagenix is growing and we are looking for an Ingredient Buyer for our Purchasing group. The position will be responsible for creating supplier relationships and strategic procurement of raw materials and finished goods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

Support goals and objectives as established by Procurement Management, with emphasis on strategic ingredient sourcing and alliances with both raw and finished goods suppliers
Responsible for timely and cost effective procurement of ingredient resources as defined. Interface with various internal departments as required
Direct and manage the strategy and bid process for ingredient resources. Review, analyze and coordinate quotes through bids for evaluation and supplier selection. Work on supply agreements/contracts to enhance purchasing synergies between third parties
Assist R&D development groups in sourcing new commodities from preferred suppliers
Support new product introductions, line extensions and promotions with timely execution of contracts to meet respective ship dates. Assist and support planning personnel where needed.
Actively develop strategic supplier alliances (domestic and global) to provide optimum service, quality and lowest total cost for both ingredients and finished goods
Support and initiate cost saving ideas and projects to meet Operations objectives and goals
Support production at contract manufacturers, resolve issues and problems, manage suppliers by monitoring performance, providing feedback, providing volume forecasts for ingredient resources
Manage finished good production at third party manufacturers. This would include purchase order placement and tracking. Buyer will be responsible for all operational interaction with several third party manufacturers.
Handle all related internal work for Purchasing, including but not limited to cost requests, quality documents, in timely fashion to meet marketing and business objectives

Strong negotiating skills

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related field
3-6 years of ingredient or contract manufacturing purchasing experience
